PUBGEM-Africa team members attended the HSRC-NRF Engaged Research Conference held on 22–24 October 2025 at the Birchwood Hotel & OR Tambo Conference Centre, Gauteng.

The Division of Human Genetics, Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Cape Town hosted grade 11 learners and their teachers, from multiple schools across the Western Cape Province on 25 August 2025 for the annual Learners' Open Day.

PUBGEM-Africa had the opportunity of presenting the 4th DS-I Africa Consortium Meeting, which was held at The Ravenala Attitude Hotel in Mauritius, 16th-22nd November 2024.

PUBGEM-Africa presented at the HUGO 2025 meeting, which was held on March 11th to 14th, with the theme “From Africa to the World: Exploring African diversity through human genomes”. The meeting reflected the focus on genomic diversity within and outside Africa

PUBGEM-Africa had the opportunity of presenting the topic "Citizen Science as Public Engagement for Data Science ad Health Research in Africa" at the DS-I Africa virtual networking exchange

An online science communication event will be hosted for DS-I Africa projects to communicate the objectives of their project, including the ethical and social considerations, as well as the anticipated social/societal impact of the project, both locally and globally.
