We registered two events with the WHO in celebration of World Hearing Day https://www.who.int/campaigns/world-hearing-day/2024.
The West African Centre for Cell Biology of Infectious Pathogens (WACCBIP) actively participated in a stakeholder engagement seminar organized by the University of Ghana Medical Centre in Accra, Ghana, on Monday, March 4, 2024, to climax this year’s World Hearing Day (Figure 6). The seminar served as a platform to share insights and foster dialogue on pertinent issues surrounding hearing impairment, particularly focusing on genetic investigations within deaf families across Ghana.
World Hearing Day 2024 activities in South Africa included compiling information sheets on hearing loss, stigma, and awareness (Figure 7).
