
Dr. Noluthando Manyisa
PhD Graduate, South Africa
Dr. Manyisa obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of the Witwatersrand. She then moved to the University of Cape Town (UCT) where her Honour’s research focused on the prevalence of two deletions in MYO7A in African hearing impairment. Her masters degree, also at UCT, was on the prevalence on pathogenic variations in hearing impairment related genes in the Cameroonian population. She completed her PhD at UCT, where she is studying the Genetics of Hearing Impairment in the South African population and was affiliated to the GeneMap HIGenes project. She enjoys knitting and crocheting. A quote she live by is “When it is dark enough, you can see the stars.” by Ralph Waldo Emerson.
