
Dr. Abdoulaye Yalcouyé

Dr. Yalcouyé is a PhD student in Human Genetics at the University of Cape Town. He holds a Medical Doctor’s degree obtained from the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry of the University of Sciences, Techniques and Technologies of Bamako. He did his thesis on clinical and genetics studies of Charcot-Marie-tooth disease type 2 in Mali that has led to discovering new clinical and genetics variants or entities in Malian population. He is in first year of PhD program and his thesis is based on genetic studies of hearing impairment in Malian population. He has published one manuscript as a first author and two manuscripts as a co-author. The important thing for him is to work in the field he loves, work hard, get advice and pray. In his spare time he enjoys watching movies and football.
